The current staging branch is just using heropatterns for the links to editions and SIGS:

The original design called for screenshots, at least for the editions. It turns out it's difficult to meaningfully distinguish them with screenshots when the only difference is deep under the hood. And the SIGs are even harder.

It would be cool if the visual splash on each of these tiles was unique. This could be a background banner similar to the heropattern. Or it could be an icon. Or it could be something else. I don't want to be too prescriptive.

Note that there's an open bug about making logos for the SIGs:

This could be related. We could use those logos, like Fedora uses logos for its editions. Or we could use a banner with related imagery. Or something else.
