Update artworks directory structure.
- Previously, documentation contents were dispersed in several
documentation formats including Texinfo, Docbook and Asciidoc. This
made difficult to consolidate documentation efforts since there were
too many documentation formats and files to maintain. This update
relocates documentation content inside Artworks/Documentation
directory using Asciidoc documentation format as default
documentation format and remove obsolete contents.
Documentation contents available were organized in two articles
named "The CentOS Project Corporate Visual Identity," and "The
CentOS Artwork Repository." Documentation contents related to
automation scripts were moved to manuals under automation scripts
directory structure.
Once documentation contents in Docbook and Texinfo format were
relocated using Asciidoc documentation format, Docbook and Texinfo
related files were removed from the repository.
- Previously, callouts design models were stored inside
Artworks/Icons/Webenv/Callouts/ and had a render.conf file their
own. This required final documentation manuals to call callout
images from Artworks/Icons/Webenv/Callouts/Final. However, because
images called by final documentation manuals are taken from an
Images link pointing to Artworks/Icons/Webenv/Final directory there
was no way for documentation manuals to reach callout images inside
Artworks/Icons/Webenv/Callouts/Final directory. This update moves
callout design models from Artworks/Icons/Webenv/Callouts/ directory
to Artworks/Icons/Webenv/ directory which produces callout images
under Artworks/Icons/Webenv/Final directory. Once design models were
moved, the Artworks/Icons/Webenv/Callouts directory was removed.
- Previously, the Artworks/Locales directory was conceived to have
localization files for all files inside Artworks/ directory
structure. This contradicts the current implementation of locale
module. This update relocates localization files inside
Artworks/Locales directory. Then, removes the Artworks/Locales
directory from Artworks directory structure. Localization files must
comply current implementation of locale module.
- Previously, design models related to brand images were conceived
using millimeters (mm) as base unit. This made difficult to be
certain about proportion required for web environment images. This
update changes base unit from millimeters to pixels (px) on design
models related to brand images.
- Previously, the Artworks/Brands/Logos/Webenv/ directory had one
sub-directory for each domain-specific set of logos (e.g.,
centos.org, centos.org.cu, etc.). That produces different directory
structures final branding images (e.g., logos for centos.org aren't
stored in the same location of logos for centos.org.cu). This update
removes domain-specific directory level from repository in order to
produce all brand information in the same directory structure. To
prevent images from overlap one another name conventions must be
use.
- Previously, design model related to powered_by_centos icon was using
both the centos brand and centos in svg format. This contradicts
our intention of not including brand information in svg format
inside design models but combine final images at production time
based on configuration files. This update removes both centos brand
and centos type from design model related to powered_by_centos icon
and set the appropriate options on the related configuration file to
combine both centos brand and centos type at rendition time using
final images.
- Previously, design models related to numbers used on branding didn't
match the content and protection area set by CentOS symbol and
CentOS word used to brand images. This lack of uniformity makes
numbers added to brands to be out of proportions compared both with
CentOS symbol and CentOS word used in the same brand. This update
changes the content and protection area of numbers used inside brand
images to retain relation with both CentOS symbol and CentOS word
when they are rendered using configuration files.
- Previously, figure titles on documentation manuals were too
separated from image itself. This update changes the heading.css
used by documentation manuals to reduce the bottom margin of figure
titles in 0.3em.
- Previously, design models describing web environment were stored at
Artworks/Documentation/Webenv but they were rarely used as reference
to implement any web design. This update removes the
Artworks/Documentation/Webenv directory entirely.
- Previously, design models describing distribution design models were
stored at Artworks/Documentation/Themes/Models/Distro/. This
information has not been used for a long time. This update removes
design models describing distribution design models entirely from
Artworks/Documentation/Themes/Models/Distro/ directory and resumes
how final images are built inside themes through a generic image
stored at Artworks/Documentation/Corporate/corporate-themes.svgz.
